ERASMUS PROJECT, JANUARY 2026
Here you are the article written by our students who took part in the Erasmus experience in Udine.
We hosted 21 students coming from Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark from the 25th to the 30th January.
During these days we visited several places and we did great activities.
Read about them and feel the emotions through the eyes of the people who took part in it.
Preparatory activities by Mia and Arianna (2H)
Before starting our Erasmus experience, we took part in some preparatory activities at school. On the first day, we met and divided into five groups because there were twenty students in total. At the beginning, we felt a bit nervous but also excited. In our groups, we worked on presentations about ourselves and our school. This activity helped us know each other and feel more confident speaking English.
On the second day, we worked again in groups, but this time they were different. We prepared presentations about Udine, Cividale and Venice. We really enjoyed this part because we learned new things about these cities and we liked sharing ideas with our classmates. Working in different groups was useful and interesting.
On the last day, we met after learning our parts. We presented our work and tried to improve everything. We felt very proud of what we did and more prepared for the Erasmus experience. These activities helped us feel less nervous and more excited for what was coming.
Day 1 by Gabriele, Maya (2BT) and Nicola (1AT)
On Sunday we had a welcoming party. We were very nervous about the arrival of our guests, but also excited because we couldn’t wait to meet them. We brought food and beverages and around six p.m. all our guests arrived. We had some time to talk with the others and then did three icebreaking activities. The first one was a bingo, where, instead of numbers, we had some "unusual" thing about us and we had to find who had them. The second activity was speed dating, Italians were in a circle in the middle and the others outside, we talked to someone for about a minute and then Italians changed. The last one was two truths and a lie with our partner. The activities were really funny and, especially the speed dating, a nice way to know about all the other Europeans and find people with the same interest as us. Afterwards we chatted another bit and took some photos.
Day 2 by Sofia Burello (2A) and Cisilino Patrizia (2C)
On Monday we finally presented our work to the other students, and they presented theirs to us. It was interesting to listen to their school stories and habits, and some groups even talked about their nationality and culture. After all the presentations we went for a walk in Udine, and when we arrived at “Piazza Libertà” we divided in pairs and started a treasure hunt where we had to take a picture of some places of Udine. We felt like researchers!
It was very exciting to look for the places, and we even had time to talk and get to know our exchange partners better.
After this activity we returned to school and had lunch in the hall, and after that we got changed and went to the school gym. There we played volleyball, and it was a fun activity.
We were so excited to play in teams because we could get to know each other better, even if there was a lot of competition between the teams.
Not everyone could play volleyball, so the ball was flying everywhere.
It was a beautiful day, and we couldn’t wait to start the next day.
Everyone was still still a bit shy at the beginning, but during the game everybody has tried to do their best and while playing, we started to know each other better and had a great time with other students.
Day 3 by Davide Incognito (2A)
On the third day of our Erasmus experience, we went to Cividale to visit Civiform. Once we arrived, we were divided into three groups, and each group had a different cooking activity: bakery, pizza and MasterChef.
My group was assigned to the pizza workshop. A professional chef explained to us how to prepare pizza, from the dough to the toppings. After the explanation, each of us made two pizzas by ourselves. It was a fun and interesting experience, especially because we could learn something new by doing it with our own hands.
After eating our pizzas and taking a short break, all the groups met again. Together, we enjoyed some tiramisù prepared by another group. Before leaving, we took a group photo with the chefs.
After that , we walked to the hell’s bridge , and we enjoyed the nice view of it. We saw the beautiful sky, the crystal water and some ducks, we took some pictures and we relaxed eating our food from home. At the end of the trip we went back together to Udine’s train/bus station.
This day made us realize how food can bring people together, even when they come from different countries and cultures. It was not just a cooking activity, but also a moment of sharing and collaboration that I will remember positively.
Day 4 by Chiara, Carolina, Gaia (2CT) and Karim (2I)
We were all excited to finally go to Venice, not caring about the rain because Venice is also beautiful with the rain.
After waking up early and having an energetic breakfast, we met at the train station and after a long trip we arrived in Venice. We were separated in two groups- A and B- and we went to see the city and the museums, facing the rain.
As a first activity we visited the Leonardo Da Vinci interactive museum.
There we could see the evolution of Leonardo's various inventions and we’ve remained impressed because even 500 years ago Leonardo da Vinci managed to build complex machinery like the Da Vinci tank or the prototype of a flying machine without any PC or electronic device.
In the museum we tried the mechanisms firsthand. Next to each project there was an explanation of what was happening and what was used. It was a beautiful and exciting destination to visit. It was really fun and memorable..
After lunch in piazza San Marco, we went to Accademie which is a big museum where there are hundreds of paintings made by different artists in different time periods.
The place was huge with many rooms covered in paintings and we had a really good time learning about the history of Venice and Italy.
Day 5 by Dudley and Luna (2D)
On Thursday all the students were again divided into the same 4 groups we were divided in on Tuesday. The groups were images and videos, writing, music and a pair of dancers. Each and every one of us rehashed our parts for a few hours until it was time for the performance!
During the rehearsal we experienced how it would feel to be on stage in Zanon's Auditorium and we perfected our performance by giving constructive tips to one another.
Then came the time to show everyone what we had practiced for and prove ourselves. It went very smoothly and it wasn't as hard as we thought it was.
Afterwards came the farewell party for the exchange students. Everyone brought food such as pizza, sandwiches and beverages. Even if not palpable, the sadness of all of us could already be felt in the air. We didn't want to say goodbye to each other the next day.
Day 6 by Gabriele, Maya (2BT) and Nicola (1AT)
On Friday, we met at 8 outside Zanon and we had to say our final goodbyes to each other. It was so sad, no one actually wanted to leave , people hugged, took final pictures together, created group chats so we could still speak to each other, even if from afar.
But alas, everything must end in the end, even through tears. People started leaving painfully and slowly, as the Italian students entered the school and had to throw themselves back in their normal lives, ready to get back to studying.
We hope that our students made you feel how many emotions and how many beautiful experiences they went through thanks to this project.
Keep updated for more projects to come!
