A teatro per vedere il bene e il male…in lingua originale! Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde on stage.

A Must-See Classic: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Have you ever seen a classic story come to life through the voices of native speakers?
On March 12th, our class visited the Palamostre Theatre in Udine to see a production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by the TNT Theatre Company. If you are looking for a unique educational experience, you can find it here.
The play deals with the famous theme of duality. What was particularly impressive about the performance is how the UK actors adapted their English for students; although we found it a little bit hard initially, the dialogue became much clearer as the play continued. The surprising thing about the production is that it included catchy songs, which helped break the tension. However, another reason why we found this performance a bit challenging is that some parts were hard to follow without knowing the plot.
What we liked most was the acting, which was very high level. In our opinion, this play would appeal to other schools as a memorable way to learn English. So, if you’ve got a chance to see it, don’t miss it!
Rating: ★★★★★ | A must-see

Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde or Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll?
Last Thursday we went to the “Palamostre” theatre in Udine with many other classes of our school to see a play based on one of the most famous novels of all time, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. The show was performed by a well-known theatre company called “The TNT,” which made several creative changes to the original story. For example, the character of the lawyer was turned into a woman, and a love story between her and Dr Jekyll was added.
We really appreciated these modifications because they made the plot more engaging and modern. We also enjoyed the songs performed between scenes, which made the show more dynamic, even if the lyrics were sometimes hard to understand because of the fast singing. The actors had impressive voices and delivered beautiful performances. Although a few scenes felt a bit slow, the play was overall very captivating.
In conclusion, we truly enjoyed the performance, the innovative adaptation, and the talented cast.

A Captivating Performance of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Last week, we went to the theatre to watch a performance of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Overall, it was an engaging and well-organised show that immediately captured our attention and kept us interested from beginning to end.
First of all, we were impressed by the actors’ performances, especially the one playing Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He managed to switch between the two personalities in a very convincing and realistic way, which made the story even more dramatic and intense. In addition, the lighting and sound effects were extremely effective in creating a dark and mysterious atmosphere.

Moreover, the set design was simple but clever, allowing the audience to focus on the action without distractions. The costumes were also appropriate and helped us understand the characters better. Although a few scenes were slightly slow, the play remained interesting throughout.
In conclusion, we believe the performance successfully conveyed its message about the dual nature of human beings. We would strongly recommend this play to other students because it is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

…
In conclusion, we appreciated some changes compared to the original story. We liked that Utterson was a woman, which made the character more modern, and enjoyed the addition of a love story between Dr. Jekyll and her.
The songs made the show more interactive, even if they weren't always connected to the plot. However, sometimes the performance felt a bit slow, and without knowing the story beforehand, it would have been hard to follow.
Despite these minor flaws, the experience was engaging and overall very enjoyable and entertaining.

The scenery was simple but effective and the use of lights and music helped to create a dramatic atmosphere and to keep the audience’s attention. In fact, even if there weren’t many props, the performance was interesting and never boring.
In our opinion, the staging was well organised and innovative. It also helped us to improve our English listening skills in a fun and different way. We would recommend this experience to other students because it is both educational and enjoyable and we think that learning while having fun can be a new and very effective learning method nowadays.
